Palmer 60 V-Drive Engine!
This Palmer P60 Engine, Reversing Gear, and V-
Drive units were remanufactured by DYS for a
Columbia 34 owner. After it was re-manufactured, it
was tested by DYS prior to shipping. The video
shows the engine running on the DYS test wagon,
in ready to install condition.
Palmer 60 Rebuilt Engines
Palmer 60 V-Drive!
This Palmer P60 came to DYS from a customer
who had recently acquired the boat. Upon engine
teardown, it appeared that the boat had probably
hit something with the propeller. The V-Drive was
professionally painted, but the Transmission Gear
Case was fractured through, as were each of its
bolt holes supporting the V-Drive. DYS replaced
the Gear Case, and rebuilt the engine.
Palmer 60 Reduction Gear!
This used Palmer M60 engine came to DYS from a
customer in Maine. The used engine he had
purchased got water in the oil because its fresh
water head gasket failed in salt water service. It
was completely dis-assembled, updated, and re-
constructed. It was then test run by DYS before
being shipped back to the customer in Maine.
Palmer 60 Direct Drive - Electronic Ignition!
This engine came to DYS from a customer in
Minnesota, in not running condition. It was dis-
assembled, cleaned, painted and reassembled, with
many items replaced. The distributor included
electronic ignition which worked fine, but below that
installation, the advance mechanism was broken. It
was replaced and the test run went fine. It is now on
its way back to the owner in Minnesota.
